Super Doubles!!

Harris Teeter will be having a super doubles sale starting this Wednesday (June 22nd)! This means they will be doubling coupons up to $1.98 (instead of the usual ($0.99). Of course this will mean a lot of freebies and really cheap stuff! So go ahead and start pulling your coupons. Here's a preliminary list to get you started and a few tips/things to keep in mind:

• HT will only double up to 20 coupons per VIC card per day
• look for freebie items first
• look for coupons for items you use regularly
• most of the $1+ coupons are for cleaning and health and beauty items
• avoid buying something that is free/cheap that you wouldn't normally get - you're still spending money on it (even if it's just tax)
• get to the store early on in the sale
• expect them to be out of some of things you're looking for, so plan for more than 20 coupons
• HAVE FUN!!

As we get closer to the sale, there will be more coupon match-ups, so check back here again or at the Southern Savers site. Also, if you are looking for coupons to a specific item that isn't listed on the match-up yet, try searching on a coupon database. I like Hot Coupon World's database. Now is a great time to get items that don't go on sale very often.

I have to apologize. I was going to post a great triples match-up list, but then I got seriously sick last night!! So, I'm going to be completely lame and post a link to the Southern Savers list. Harris Teeter Triples

I'm sorry I'm a little behind getting this posted - this week has been CRAZY!!! Anyway, HT is doing triples (started 4/28 and runs through 5/4). Check out Souther Savers for a comprehensive coupon match-up. The interactive page allows you to click on the items you want to buy and then creates a shopping list for you of only those items. Just checked out the sneak peek of next week's Staples ad and there are once again some great deals. $0.01 for 1 subject notebooks, $1 computer paper (after MIR), FREE (technically FAR) labeler, electronic pencil sharpener and dry erase markers. There are rumors that Harris Teeter will be going back to triples next week! It looks like we'll have triples from 8/12 - 8/18. Check back later to see if this is confirmed.

Weekly Deals for May 31

If I were to describe this week's drug store deals in one word, it would be "pitiful." There are almost no good deals out there this week!! It's so bad, I didn't even include CVS in the spreadsheet. Click to view the weekly spreadsheet here.

In other news, Harris Teeter's triples sale continues until Tuesday. Unlike the drug stores, there are LOTS of great deals here and plenty of FREEBIES! I've been twice already. Both stores seem to have lots of things in stock, in fact, on Wednesday, I didn't find any freebies they were out of! My husband and I walked in there and got $100 worth of groceries for $15 (and I bought milk and non-sale juice)! Here are some items I found that are free or nearly free, but I'm sure there are more. For the simplicity's sake, I'll just list the item and assume you have a good stock of RPs and SSs :-)

Triples are Back... Again!

Have I mentioned recently that Harris Teeter is my favorite grocery store in Greenville? It looks like we're getting another round of triples next week! I guess they're making this a monthly thing - I'm sure not going to complain! The dates for the next triple coupon week are 5/27 - 6/2 (yes, it's a full week again!).

Harris Teeter Triples Update

***UPDATE*** Sorry I'm a little behind this week. Being away from "real" internet all weekend set me back. Triples are running on a different schedule this time. Triples will run from 7 am Wednesday, March 25 to midnight on Tuesday March 31. 24 hour stores DO NOT start early. So load up those notebooks and be ready to hit the stores on Wednesday. The good deals really go fast during triples. Since it's a WHOLE WEEK this time, maybe the stores will be able to restock mid-sale. SUPER DOUBLES!

Apparently I was more neglectful this weekend than I had thought. K-Mart is doing super doubles this week and I totally missed it! So, yeah, Super Doubles from Sunday (3/22) until Saturday (3/38) AND triples at Harris Teeter from Thursday (3/26) until Wednesday (4/1)??? Man, I wish shopping was like this every week!

Rumor has it that Harris Teeter will be doing triple coupons for a full 7 days beginning March 25th. Start getting your coupons together, cross your fingers and hope the rumors are true!!

Greenville Grocery Stores

Here’s the low-down on all the grocery stores in Greenville.

Food Lion
No doubles or triples here. Everyone in Greenville knows Food Lion. They have low prices and decent weekly sales. Every now and then you’ll get opportunities to save big with coupons and sales, but the fact that they don’t double means that the coupon usually has to be $1 or more or the sale has to be really good to make it worth your while. Even still, FL is a great place to go for produce and other non-coupon items.

Harris Teeter
My personal favorite (not just because there's a Starbuck's inside), HT doubles coupons up to $0.99 every day! In order to take advantage of this you need to use a VIC card - their customer loyalty card. HT tracks your purchases through this card and limits you to 20 multiplied coupons per card per day. Needless to say, I have more than one of these babies! In addition, you are limited to 4 identical coupons per order. This rule, however, is enforced by the cashier and not all of them enforce it. In addition, Harris Teeter runs 2 types of promotions: Super Doubles and Triples.

Triple Coupon Sales: These sales usually run Wednesday - Tuesday and you can get some great deals this way! This is a great time to stock up on non-perishable and frozen grocery items, as this is where you'll find the best deals during these sales. The same coupon policy applies (just substitute the word "triple" for "double".

Super Double Sales: During "Super Doubles," HT doubles coupons up to $1.98 (instead of $0.99). Again, the normal coupon policy applies, but with the higher coupon value. Usually, the best deals are going to be with cleaning supplies and health and beauty items as these items are the ones with the higher value coupons.

RIP :-(

Lowe’s Food
Another grocery store that doubles up to $0.99 every day, Lowe’s is a good place to find some great deals. They also have triple coupon sales, but not as often as HT. Lowe’s customer loyalty card, the Lowe’s Green Card, tracks your spending and gives you points for every dollar you spend. These can be used later to get discounts on, or even free, groceries.

Piggly Wiggly
No double coupons here. Like FL, they have some good sales and it’s not a bad store for non-coupon items. I recommend "The Pig" (as we call it in Farmville) for meats and other non-coupon sale items.
