Walgreens

The Many Ways to Save at WAGS

Walgreens does not have a consumer loyalty card, but it does have a register reward program (like CVS). They used to have a great rebate system, but it was scrapped in April 2009. :-( We'll miss you, EasySaver catalog!

What are Register Rewards?
Register Rewards (RR) are coupons that print out at the register (like catalina coupons at the grocery store) when you buy certain items. These coupons can be used on any future purchase. Your item total must equal or exceed the amount of the RR in order to use them. Some Walgreens will count this as a coupon and will not let you use more coupons than you have items. I’ve had this problem at the WAGS on Memorial Dr., but not the one on 10th St. RRs have expiration dates, so be careful that you don’t wait too long to spend them (although I have found that some locations/cashier will let you use expired RRs)!

So how do I know what items earn RRs?
That’s the easy part! RR deals are published in the weekly circular. Also, the RR machine will often print out coupon-like ads showing when a RR deal will come out. If you use my weekly drug store shopping spreadsheet, it will indicate which items have RRs and how much they are for.

A Random Thought

If you wouldn't have bought it to begin with, you didn't save money on it!
