Kroger 10 Item Mega Event

The Kroger 10 item sale is back! I got a lot of good deals last time around, so I'm hoping to score some again this week. For those of you who are new to this sale, here are the ground rules:

- The prices of items included in this deal are usually discounted

- When you buy 10 of these items (mix & match), you get a $5 credit on your transaction

- You can get up to 3 $5 credits per transaction

- The Greenville Kroger doubles coupons up to $0.50

- You can use up to 4 identical coupons, but only the FIRST one will double :-(

That last one makes this a little tricky, but I've put together a 10-item scenario for you with what I think are the best deals. To see the full list of items on sale and coupon match-up, visit ClipperGirl's blog (you will have to scroll down and click on "older posts").

My Scenario:

(Final price reflects $0.50 discount on each of the ten items in the scenario, for a total of $5 discount)

#1 - Quaker Quakes (Rice Cakes) 3-3.6 oz; use $1/1 coupon from 1/18 RP, final price = FREE

#2 - Colgate Toothpaste 6.4 oz.; use $.75/1 coupon from 2/22 SS final price= $0.25

if you have any $1.50 coupons from All You, this is a great time to use them!! final price = $0.50 profit!!

#3 - Betty Crocker Specialty Potatoes; use $0.40 Cellfire coupon, and/or printable coupon HERE (you should be able to use both of these coupons, making this item FREE)

#4 - Colgate Toothbrush; use $0.75/1 coupon from 2/22 SS, final price = $0.25

#5 & 6 - Pillsbury Toaster Strudels (buy 2); use $0.55/2 coupon from 1/4 or 2/8 SS AND $0.50 Cellfire coupon, final price = $1.93 for 2

#7 & 8 - Kellogg's Frosted Flakes (if included in the sale); use 2 $0.70 coupons from 2/22 RP AND $1.00/2 coupons from Shortcuts, final price = $1.14 each ****UPDATE**** Frosted Flakes are NOT part of the sale this week. Here's a deal you can do instead. Buy 1 bag of Chex Mix and 1 bag of Cheerios Mix; use 1 $0.60 printable coupon from Coupons.com HERE and 1 $0.60 Cellfire coupon each, final price = $0.29 each!

# 9 - Kleenex Cottonelle Toilet Paper, 12 Double rolls; use $0.50 coupon from 2/1 SS AND $0.25 Cellfire coupon, final price = $4.74

#10 - Fiber One Cereal Bars; use $1.35 printable coupon HERE OR $0.50 coupon from 1/25 or 3/8 SS AND $0.75 coupon from Shortcuts, final price = $0.11 profit or $0.24! ****UPDATE*** The printable coupon is only for the Chocolate Mocha variety, which the Greenville Kroger does not carry. I suggest getting more toothbrushes or toothpaste. I also got some Freschetta pizzas. They're on sale for $4.49 (so, $3.99 after the $0.50 discount) and there are $1 coupons, making them $2.99. We eat them a lot at my house, so while they're not free, it's still a great deal!!

Grand Total = $8.79 Retail Value = approx. $36.38 (according to Harris Teeter online,) Potential Savings = 76%

A Random Thought

If you wouldn't have bought it to begin with, you didn't save money on it!
